The Fiscal Court meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 7:00 P.M. for Regular Meetings.  An Agenda is prepared for each meeting.  The Judge Executive presents items and after discussion, he requests a motion to accept or reject the item.  All vote Yes or No. 

The Caucus meetings are held usually the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 5:30 P.M.  If there are 5 Mondays we usually skip the fourth Monday and go to the Fifth Monday.  This is General Discussion by anyone who would like to address the Court.  No action can be taken at this meeting. No Agendas are prepared for Caucus meetings. 

The Judge Executive serves as the Chief Executive/Administrative Officer of the county.  He is a  member and presiding officer of the fiscal court.  He oversees county roads, prepares and administers the county budget, performs weddings, appoints with Fiscal Court approval, all members to various boards and committees.  The judge executive has the authority to appoint, supervise, suspend, and remove county personnel, with fiscal court approval, unless state law provides otherwise.

NOTICE

 

 

In accordance with the requirements of KRS 67.045, the Grant County Fiscal Court plans to initiate reapportionment of the magisterial districts by the appointment of three (3) citizens of Grant County over the age of twenty-one (21) years, one from each of the current magisterial districts, to serve with the Grant County Clerk as a Commission to reapportion the county’s districts in accordance with KRS 67.045.  Appointments of the citizen members will be considered by the Grant County Fiscal Court at the May 2nd, 2011 meeting.  The reapportionment commissioners shall, within sixty (60) days after their appointment, lay off the boundary lines of the recommended magisterial districts. The reapportionment commissioners shall file in the office of the county clerk and with each member of the fiscal court a written report, showing the boundary of each district and the estimated population in each. Within sixty (60) days of the receipt of the reapportionment commissioners report, the fiscal court shall consider the report of the commissioners and, in accordance with the provisions of KRS 67.077, adopt or amend the report by ordinance in establishing the magisterial districts.

The Grant County Fiscal Court accepts employment applications Monday-Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm. Applications may be picked up at the County Judge Executives offices for County employment. Applications will be kept on file for 1 year.
